Just take off the passenger side under dash panel and it comes out with
like 3 screws. The brushes wear a groove in the rotor or whatever it is
called and lose continuity. A cheap test is to push up on the exposed axle
from below with a screwdriver handle. It moves the rotor enough to make
contact

On a 123 removing the blower motor takes less than one minute and couldn't be
easier. Evidently the engineers chose to avoid the 108 and 114/115 approach
(hang the blower motor from a coathanger and build the ENTIRE car around it) by
making it super easy.
