Our little female dog avoids the thing but otherwise pays little
attention to it. The big boys would find it a wonderful playmate but
they don't get to be around it. Cats deserve whatever trauma it inflicts.

Less than $500 and you want new, go to Sears, but you won't be much
under that $500 even there (base models only).
In spite of no official inflation, prices on manufactured (read
Chinese) goods are VERY high in comparison with what most people
Dysons are expensive, and made of plastic. Plastics have a usable
lifetime of 5 years or so before they warp and leak or crack.
Gonna spend that money, look for a used all metal Hoover, Electrolux,

Best thing about Filter Queens is that they are QUIET.

You empty the water after each use. And store with no water in the tank.
One on the neat features is you can set it in a room with the tank

No, it's a 1950's (styling and design, hasn't changed any) canister

little plastic, spherical wheels on the canister, uses a conical filter.

The dust that you've just vacuumed up comes pouring back out when you empty
