I sort of recall the discussion as well. If my memory is reasonably accurate it was being planned for the following spring or summer. Long enough ahead that the issue faded I would guess. Would have been a long trip for those in the east / south east. Randy On 10/11/2021 4:50 PM, Bob Rentfro

I thought the AlCan was completely paved now? When I used to do work in Fairbanks it was rare to see a car or truck without a cracked windshield, especially if you drove the haul road up to the Yukon (that ultimately went to Prudhoe Bay). -D > On Nov 9, 2021, at 10:13 PM, Clay via Mercedes

Seven to ten days if you do the border crossing into Regina. Depends on your lead foot how long it takes to hit the border. Road is well paved in Canada until you get north in the boonies. SWMBA drives speed limits, Canada has top speed around 62mph, gravel roads drop it to 50 or less.

Nothing like dead electronics for taking you out with them, in extreme traveling. (Extreme: you stop, you die. Just like extreme sports: you fall, you die.) Hard to argue with an OM6[01]X for that. Pure mechanical dieseling. The P7100 pump in the 96-98 (not 98.5) Dodge is the same kind of
