Glycol is colorless. The color of the coolant is dye, and the long life and MB types for high aluminum content engines are dyed yellow, red, or orange to make them visually different than the standard green coolant, which does not have sufficient anti-corrosive reserve for use in MB engines,

If your light is coming on but the level is OK, the sensor is bad. The coolant should be mixed 50/50 with water. That would cause it to run warmer. Also, if you have your AC on and your temp gets up a little but the aux fan does not kick on, that could be your problem too. Temp switch for

Coolant should be less than 75% glycol. Did you purge all the air out when you filled it? The procedure I use that works best is to squeeze the upper radiator hose flat, then crimp the overflow line at the top of the radiator to the coolant tank shut and release the upper radiator hose.
