Those have a pretty low power draw, something like 20W.
(Assuming you didn't hot it up too much.) They'd be a
fairly decent media server, assuming they'd be up to
the task. Our dual and quad G5's are 10-20x the power
draw, leave them on and you'd see it in your

My main laptop for dragging to work and on trips is a TiBook 1 GHz

later MacBook Pro's (reflowing the video chips), but I don't think
they are as reliable.
Good, solid machines.

Pismo's were great -- with two batteries, I got upwards of 8 hours of
run time, specially after new cells in the batteries. However, it was
slow as molasses with Word, which I'm stuck with, and much heavier
than the TiBook.
My TiBook is back to full function now -- I lost a screw out of

Don't know if desktops are a habit or a requirement, but for most
people it doesn't make any difference. In fact, for a lot of people,
a smart phone is all they really use.
Me, I have a couple SCSI scanners attached, two printers (and soon

Speaking of reballing GPUs in G5 iMacs and others, I have two 20 G5 iMacs on

Speaking of bad caps, I have a MacBook Pro that is totally inert now

board has now power, and I don't really have the tools to investigate.
