There is a bid difference between record profits and profit MARGINS.
The profits can be record but the margins stay the same.

I'd buy BioD exclusively, even at a higher cost, if I didn't have to drive
20-25 miles off of my commute (97mi each way) to get the stuff, especially
when there's a diesel pump ~50 feet off of my commute... (I'd put up with
2-3 miles out of the way, but I pass at least 3 fuel stations with pump

At any rate I wouldn't hold my breath for a big decline if fuel prices...

More BioD or Ethanol production will not lower prices. The powers that be know
that the market can handle the price it's currently at, they're money hungry,
and won't let the price drop much (record profits from Exon/Mobil last 4th
quarter???). BioD production can cost less than diesel per gal
aging. Wonder if the US follows Canada's trends?

Here in Upstate NY (Delhi), gas has finally come down to $3.15/gallon from
a high of around $3.40. The next town over is down to about $2.87, and that
is where we try to buy it. Amazing how 20 miles of distance between the same
company's gas stations can amount to a difference of almost $.30.
Here in Mexico we are paying $2.27 US$ per US gallon for 87 octane.

Delayed effect from Rita? Word came in today that a lot of drilling
rigs in the Gulf are damaged or missing entirely. I imagine the news
was quickly followed by a rise in the price of oil.
Its gone up here as well since yesterday, its 2.79 for gas and 2.75 for
diesel.

They're usually $0.10 to $0.20/gallon higher, but they haven't
