Mifos company that works to mobile-ify Mifos in conjunction with community
efforts, and will have an outline of that posted in the next few days.

interesting, that sounds like a good place to start - especially in the
"Projects" model that Ed was talking about. I won't likely be hiring engineers

Hi Miguel -
This is very interesting (I'm a bit behind and just reading through the Mifos
lists from the last couple of weeks now). Can you provide more detail on the
thinking behind the action plan? I looked at the website and wasn't clear on

eg what is the strategy/org/leading

cool! you're at ASOMI, right?
Seems like there are two different but related components to this:
- actual "ownership" of the infrastructure (only relevant in some cases)
- administration/maintenance of infrastructure
For example, mifos.org needs someone to host the website (or pay for Amazon),
pay for the domain registration,
get some feedback from MFIs on this - I don't know whether I'm a
weird special use case (trying to find all Specialists in Africa) or not. as I
talk to MFIs I'll ask around.

Hey Keith
it's really heartening to see you stepping up and thinking about Mifos
post-Grameen, and helping to drive the conversation forward - thanks for doing
this.
here are a few things based on what I've seen in the last few weeks in Africa:

What's the best way to get a comprehensive view of the Mifos community in
sub-Saharan Africa? I've looked on mifos.org but know that there are a bunch of
people out there that I can't find on the website (for example, a search on
"Lumana" doesn't turn up any results on mifos.org but I understand

FWIW, KEEF (an MFI in Kenya using Mifos) today asked me if it was
possible to search on National ID (which it isn't)... seems that a
general "search everything" feature would be helpful, not sure of the
implications.
