Situation Fresh New Install. 5.6 Release.
OpenBsd Installed fine. Logged in as root -> startx -> blank screen.
I have to press CTRL+ALT+F1 to get console(blank) close the lid -> suspend
the machine -> open the lid -> on console again.

Did you upgrade from 5.4 -> 5.5 -> 5.6, or directly from 5.4 -> 5.6.
Skipping upgrades is unsupported last I checked.
I can't seem to figure out how to startx over ssh. I seem to be getting
closer, but not sure where the problem lays. I'm connecting to an OpenBSD 5.6
box from an iMac. It really isn't necessary but Its bugging me that I can't
figure it out.
