[WikimediaMobile] Android app now requires "run at startup" permission?

2016-02-18 Thread Legoktm
Hi, When I upgrade from 2.1.137-fdroid to 2.1.141-fdroid (I fell a little behind in staying up to date), the Android Wikipedia app requests the "run at startup" permission. Is this intentional? Why does the app need to run at startup? Thanks,

know why this is? It'd be nice if this could be changed, because it's a pain to deal with things like this in a strongly-typed language like Java. Changed to what? I think it would be a pain to deal with in any language ;-) -- Legoktm ___ Mobile-l

with this being a slippery slope. Part of the problem that I see is that the content being controlled by the apps rather than on-wiki. I don't really have any better ideas than something similar to class=metadata which TextExtracts removes though. -- Legoktm
