We have problems with a machine running Apache 1.3.12 (Unix) mod_ssl/2.6.4 OpenSSL/0.9.5a ApacheJServ/1.1.1 on Linux 2.4.2. Normal connections work well, so do https connections in IE, but in Netscape https connections are much slower than normal http connections. I have checked my /dev/random dev

Current update on this problem; I've been sniffing the TCP stream while logging in with Netscape/PC and Netscape/Mac. Interestingly the Mac version appears to load three objects (images) and then wait for 18 seconds. Then load another three objects and again wait 18 seconds. Etc etc etc. Ver

I can confirm that I had this same slow/hang problem with Macs running netscape 4.73 and 4.75, using several mod_ssl and apache version, running on Solaris. This was not a Linux-centric issue. It wasn't a priority for my client at the time, but I did send a BrowserMatch statement for them to try.

OK, that went faster than expected. I clean-installed Netscape from several sources, below are the text strings recorded in the apache log for each Netscape version I tested. I can confirm, each Netscape DID NOT work with out the BrowserMatch regex, and each DID work with the BrowserMatch regex.
