David,
Well, not doubt eBay has developed a huge audience -- and I've always
said that MPB is not intended to replace eBay (at least for most
people), but to provide a more focused, trusted and personal-service
alternative. I still recommend that sellers should sell BOTH on eBay
and MPB. This make
How about two sentences about why more than 1,500 auctions were closed and
his "permanent" suspension?
1. He's accused of unlawful bidding through one of his employees, over
several years.
2. He's accused of repeated listing violations, again, over several years.

David,
With all due respect to your otherwise thoughtful and incisive

the only way new movie collectors will ever become part of the
hobby -- or see Bruce's or anyone else's auctions is through eBay. I

Michael,
The reason Movie Poster Talk has so many more members than MOPO was
brilliant marketing by the owner and operator of MPT, Jon Warren. See,
for years Jon has published a movie poster Price Guide and made it
available online for free. People would use that free online Price
Guide a lot (alt
Eric,
That's a good point, and one of the improvements we are working on. We
should have it so that you can save the results of a search as a
"favorite" shortly. We are also looking to integrate it into the
user's "My Area" page if possible.

Movie Poster Talk is a younger crowd, by and large, and a bit too chaotic and scatterd for my taste, although I joined. Also, too many damn inane posts. I like MOPO, fine -- just the way it is. If it ain't broke ...

I think it has to do with a couple
things...
1. On MPT you don't receive every single post
(like you do on an email list). You can pick and choose what you want to
look at.
2. I think Mopo turns a lot of people off

yeah folks.. lets show ebay how we can do it..
I say every movieposterbid.com member should list all he can this week &
lets see if we can get as many listings on movieposterbid.com as ebay has
each week..
as of this moment, eBay has 24,000 listings in the original lobby card &
poster sections. Now

i mustve gotten about 10 private emails, plus all the public postings telling me to join MOVIE POSTER TALK. i already did. i will try my Want List there since it has been very effective on MOPO in the last few months.

One thing that would help mopobid
tremendously, at least with me, is the ability to save searches. This
would become even more important with a higher number of items passing through
the site.
I know that you can't save searches on the site
itself yet, but is there a way to preserve them
