I went through almost the exact thing you describe,
eventually become very wide-ranging in the posters I bought. Now over the past 6
months an odd thing has happened. Lately I find myself focusing on the type of
posters that I first started collecting... mostly science fiction films

I don't think we should count teasers/advances... they often don't have any
words. More interesting would be those posters issued during the actual release
of a film with no words. My guess is they are very rare.

jr, your response proves my bias. i only collect prior to 60s, although i purchased PSYCHO insert last week plus an insert from a favorite 65 film.36 HOURS.
so.my mindset when talking about posters is always pre-60s.
