would have fared without a title change, and why some titles were only changed
in some regions. Out Of The Past, for example, was released in the UK under
the original book title Build My Gallows High. Going the

Sort of related, but not exactly...
Trailer VS. the Film...
I seem to recall seeing either a trailer or promo film for Comes a
Horseman, Wild and Free. I said to myself, That's a clunky title.
When the film came out, it was just called Comes a Horseman, so I'm
assuming the suits

1944's Farewell My Lovely which was originally previewed under it's
original title, but very quickly was retitled for US theatres because
the studio realized people thought they going to see a Dick Powell
singing comedy
British posters still bear the original title and in the credits
