almost no birds, a couple of rock pigeons, a couple of common yellow-throats

Hello all,
A few groups of birders and I waited and searched all day yesterday for
the Long-tailed Jaeger near Agassiz NWR, but could not find it. We waited
for the bird at 260th and 180th between 5:00 and 7:00 p.m. but it did not
show itself.

Tom Nelson, Nathan and I traveled from Murphy-Hanrehan to Roseau on
Thursday, August 30th - then backtracked to Agassiz the next morning due to
Thursday's burn/refuge shutdown. We totaled 135 species, including:
* Long-tailed Jaeger (what a glorious bird)
* 15 shorebird species, including
That adult Long-tailed Jaeger, which now appears to have departed the
area just outside of Agassiz NWR sometime on Sept 2, may have relocated
to Lake of the Woods. About 10:30 am yesterday, Sept 3, an adult
Long-tailed was seen briefly as it flew over Springsteel Island just N
of Warroad.

There's another Birds and Beers scheduled for October 18, 2007 at 6pm
at Merlin's Rest. Birds and Beers is a gathering of birders to have
