There were 4 occupied Red-necked Grebe nests on Assumption Lake in Carver
County this morning and possibly a 5th. While I was watching, the adults on 2
of the nests traded places. One of the pairs made their call as they were
switching. There were no other Grebe species on the lake, but
Despite migration being 99.8% done here, had 109 species (morning walks
drives before work) in the Zimmerman/Princeton/Milaca area since Monday.

This morning at approximately 9:30 - 9:45 am I found what I believe to be a
female Brewer's Blackbird foraging in the short grass beside a trail at the
Rudy Kraemer Nature Preserve in northwest Burnsville. I found the bird on
the south side of the pond that is south of the ball field at the Sue

seconds. I never saw it and did not hear it sing again after listening,

field trip. We will meet at the picnic parking lot of the Schaar's Bluff unit
of Dakota County Spring Lake Park at 7am. This is a free Minnesota River
Valley Audubon Chapter (MRVAC) field trip, but all are welcome
