My report of a Carolina wren last week prompted a suggestion to tempt it
with mealworms. We put out dried mealworms, but haven't seen the wren
again. However, at least 5 bluebirds found them and have been enjoying the
worms ever since!
In addition, a red-breasted nuthatch has appeared to join

While count interpreting migrating songbirds and raptors today at Hawk
Ridge, I spotted a CLARK'S NUTCRACKER flying by. The bird was flying quite
low over the tree tops, and was last seen heading northeast. It was really
exciting to see! There was a non-stop stream of Red-tailed Hawks throughout
We just left 2 saw-whet owls in the garden center section of menards in
hermantown. One was last seen sitting on a rake and the other was up in the
rafters.
