I just got back into the realm of computers and on-line communication.
The second hand reporter got back to me that most of the many loons were in
Wayzata Bay off the yacht club and more were between Big Island and
Cottagewood, which is west of Big Island. He suggested looking south by the

common mergansers (diving in groups) with a few loons nearby in Wayzata
downtown (near COV restaurant), and many common mergansers landing around the
point at Excelsior Commons Park at 15 min before sunset. (Nothing to
I just got home from a two hour trip around Minnetonka and saw a few Loons,
Bald Eagles, Kingfishers, Mallards, and 100's of Common Mergansers.
We pretty thoroughly covered the accessible shoreline, missing the
eastern-most side at Greenwood and Deephaven.

Siskins started showing up here a week ago, but on Wednesday they

view on how they were staging in the trees above the house to try to get a
handle on the numbers.
