The Eurasian Tree Sparrow that was originally reported by Sharon Lind on Friday
and then seen again by Bruce Munson on Saturday is still present as of 8:00 A.M
this morning in Two Harbors. Someone has been spreading seed in the first space
of a parking lot at the corner of 6th Street and South A
Kim Risen and I birded Hillside Road in Reno, Houston county yesterday evening
and this morning. Among a nice influx of migrants we found Carolina wrens,
yellow-throated warbler and Kentucky warbler. In addition we also had excellent
looks at orchard orioles, cerulean warblers, and a vocal tufte
There are currently at least 26 bald eagles congregating on the ice near open
water on Goff's Bay of Big Sandy Lake. I am viewing them from my home
overlooking the bay and I suspect there are more out of my line of sight. Their
numbers have been building here over the last couple of days.
