although we’ve had a few for three weeks. Also for the last month we’ve had two
Red-breasted Nuthatch’s. At our home feeders near Ridgedale.

Today around 1 PM at our back yard feeders we had a flock of 25 or more Common
Redpolls show up. These are the first Redpolls we’ve had this winter. We also
have a pair of Pileated Woodpeckers visiting on a regular basis.

We just had a Red-headed Woodpecker on a peanut feeder in our front yard.
Fairly uncommon in our suburban wooded neighborhood. So beautiful in the
sunlight.

This morning I was blessed with a flock of 12 Wild Turkeys in our yard, the
males gobbling and in display (although the younger males need to work on it)!
I also had a flyover of two Trumpeter Swans, possibly the nesting pair from
Crane Lake next to Ridgedale.

At our feeders in Minnetonka near Ridgedale today we had a new yard bird, a
Tufted Titmouse showed up for a short time.
Also at our feeders during the rain, wind and snow today a total of 16 species.

Today around 3 PM I found two Trumpeter Swans on Crane Lake near Ridgedale, We
live just south of Crane Lake and yesterday Mary Lou heard and saw them flying
overhead. 6 weeks ago they ( or a different pair) were seen at the same place.
There was also a Common Loon and a Great Egret present.

Today Mary Lou, Marsha Moreen and I birded Westwood Hills Nature Center in
Golden Valley, our feeders in Minnetonka, and this evening I walked around Big
Willow park in Minnetonka. We saw a total of 58 species.

Today I saw our FOY Sharp-shinned Hawk feeding at the trough of life (a Junco).
Also some Goldfinches are half bright yellow.

Sunday evening at Big Willow Park in Minnetonka on Minnehaha Creek we located a
pair of Eastern Bluebirds. This is the earliest I have seen E Bluebirds at Big
Willow.

This afternoon from 1:30 to 2:30 I had a warbler wave of over 75 in the tops of
oak and pine trees. There were mostly Yellow-rumped, also 12 Nashville, 2
Blue-gray Gnatcatchers, 3 Tennessee, 2 Ruby-crowned Kinglets, 2 Northern
Orioles. On the ground were Palm Warblers, 5 Harris's, 1 White-crowne

20 Dark-eyed Juncos we had a few all winter but this week a sudden influx
male Cooper's Hawk which caught aDark-eyed Junco

Recovering from cancer surgery has its rewards. Watching out my front window I
have seen between 25-50 redpolls feeding on my deck.
I just counted 68 birds at our feeders near Ridgedale.

Yesterday around 1 PM I found 7 Common Terns at Langdon Lake which is west of
county road 110 and south of county road 12 in Mound.
Yesterday evening at Big Willow park in Minnetonka I saw 3 N Oriole males
chasing each other.
Also Ruby-crowned Kinglet, Yellow-r, Common Y-t and Tennessee Warblers
