Yesterday, 12/19/2016, 3 SEOWs were sighted at the Armstrong Unit, about 1.5 miles north of Rice Lake State Park in NE Steele County. The road is NE 84th Ave. Best access from I-35 is to get off on 26th Street and go east. Continue on it until it becomes #8. Stay with #8 until you can turn ea

Just wanted to thank everyone for the great directions to the Afton short-eared owls. Today Cheri Steiny and I went out there and for sure saw two and possibly three. We parked near the trail head and the owls were seen about 3:30ish-4:00 on both sides of the road in the fields flying and hunting.
