the answer was focused summer programs that students didn't attend,
why did the MPS continue to move students onto the next grade even
though they hadn
uspicion that the MPS use additional tests just for CYA. NCLB
left the details of test design up to the States (a big mistake in
my opinion), so the content and type of test is flexible.

and the law itself only requires that the states do
testing at most grade levels and include all students.
The type of test and testing standards are left up to
individual states. The fact that the District hasn't
modified an

rise. The question should be whether the scores at
schools where Dr. Peebles was directly involved improved
over and above those at similar schools in the Metro.
I haven't seen that analysis yet. If such an analysis
does show a significant difference, then the Bo
bles I'd stay the course (assuming
that she believes it's best) and then take the money and run after
the Board fires her (which was foolish to write in such a
generous termination clause). There'll always be another school
district that will hire her.
