pages flip by. Tonight there is a meeting at 6:00 in the city council
chamber, snow or no snow. Here is a portion of the public notice:
The Redistricting Commission would like to invite members of the ethnic

agenda and minutes from the previous meeting were
approved.
There will be a special meeting of the Redistricti

election of Parker Trostel as the chair of the Minneapolis Redistricting
Commission. She becomes the ninth member for the first phase of the
commision's work. As posted by F. Markus, he along with myself, will be
replaced by Tony Scallon and
Stafford and Markus sit when the City is being redistricted. They leave and are replaced by Scallon and Neiman when the Park Board is redistricted.

The Redistricting Commission elected former Alderwoman (and that's what they were when
she served) Parker Trostel (R) as the chair and ninth member. That means there are
three DFLers, three Republicans, two Independence Party and one Green on the
Commission.

Not only were there several women, (4-5?) There were
also at least 3-4 people of color and two openly gay
men... that I personally knew of, anyway. It was
pretty diverse pickings, when you consider that there
were only about 20 of us in total on Thursday.

The nomination list that I saw at the Charter
Commission interview had Jordan Kushner listed as a
Green. I don't remember if he was party-nominated or
self-nominated, but either way, he was one Green that
was present during the selection section

whole email deal on the list some months back, but they don't publish

the charter commission believes that only St Paul is
"east of the river".
