Tony,
If you want to use the new implementation of CSD03 (or CSD04), you
have to re-create your ConfigMgr. This is a simple method without any
data loss just follow the manual.
Note: all MQSI manuals is out of date, including 'CSD Release Guide',
so reading the files like memo.ptf and readme.txt
write one program to loop 100 times. have it start a simple cobol pgm that
send a message to a round robin remote queue and then do a start with data
on itself in an x amount of time. Have the start data contain the counter
for the number of messages sent and check the limit in the started program.
I am running sample program (AMQSREQO) as a client in
HP-UX to put messages in os/390 and get respond back
from an existing reply queue in os/390.
I get error code 2042 (Object IN-USE) for openning the
reply queue. What am I doing wrong ?
Thank you for your help.

Hi,
MQSI on the mainframe is taking a lot of memory. Do
your planning properly during the setup. That the most
important part when using MQSI on the mainframe.
Thanks.

Peter,
To simulate 100 people sending messages at the same time, program your batch program
to send all 100 messages in the same UOW. Tweak the channel batchsz and batchint to
accomodate the entire UOW. The goal is to get the channel to ship some number of
messages in a single UOW, such that the
LU6.2 allows you to validate a userid and password using an ESM, e.g. RACF.
AFAIK, TCP does not support this.

Hi,
Can someone tell me if MQ5.3 is able to carry over the network (from AIX to
Z/OS) the userid as well as the password when TCP is used as the transport
type? I do not want to use the CICS bridge. The application on z/os will be
written in COBL/MQ/CICS and on the AIX platform in the C language.

Whether or not you can support 150 channels depends on the hardware.
Someone mentioned this in a post a day or so ago and I think they referenced
the Planning Guide which gives you some idea of how to estimate capacity.

Peter, gee, there used to be programs that would do that for you, but I
haven't heard of them in a very long time; wonder if they even still make
those?
I don't have a magic answer, but how about...

Peter,
IBM has TPNS, which can either work from network trace data, or you can
create your own scripts. Also, I think CA has a product called Playback.

Erik,
Why do you ask?
CSQUZAP seems to be a utility for working with offline logs. It appears to
be deliberately un-documented, and only to be used at the direction of IBM
support.

How do people simulate/perform volume testing of MQ roundtrips that start

Hi Michael,
We did a performance test for the following cases. No-SSL, SSL with no
encryption, SSL- 40Bit, SSL -128 Bit. The startup of the channel or SSL
handshake you may call took around 2~3 seconds which I guess is most expensive
handshake. After the channel is started the dequeue rates were
