The platform is HP UX 11i
We have the backup scenario nicely covered (A and B machine with the queue manager livin on a shared disk)
This is basically for Disaster recovery - which means that the two machines will not be located close to each other

You don't mention the platform, but shared queues on z/OS are pretty much
what you are describing.

By this I
mean the following:
1) Have a
queue manager "A" running on machine "a"
2) Have
