That is also why I think banning certain persons (in particular, I am
talking about GuyveR800 from TNI here) is a Very Bad Idea. In the end,
GuyveR800 was banned because of a (strong) disagreement with the msx.org
staff, and as an end result can thus not participate in that part of the

Term Scene stands for creativity. The MSX Scene is long since dead. All that
remains is Robsy, KonamiMan and BiFi. Everybody else is either a collector,
nostalgic dreamer, flamewar lover or some other variety of lamer.
Let's keep the discussion positive and constructive. The MSX scene is not
Arian, what is wrong with you? Why on earth do you call nostalgic dreamers
and collectors lamers? This kind of flaming is exactly what reminds me on
the times that this list was much used and comp.sys.msx was still the plac

Well, it's obvious. I'm talking a lot, and don't do much else,
Thanks a lot!

Thank you very much!
There's a new version of Illusion City English available.
Some highlights:
- disk #4 fully translated;
- some bugs (including translation) fixed;
- all game songs in MIDI, MP3 e FM formats are available, including
those that nobody never listened so far;
- confirmed which
And, by the way, IDE CF won't work in your MSX2+, because it needs 128 KB
RAM at least in order to work properly (due to MSXDOS2, that needs 128 KB).
It works fine in my MSX2+ :) But I think it's because I upgraded internal memory to
512K :)

Hello,

Thanks,

How convinient for Grauw Co. :-P
After receiving some communications from the legally entitled owners from
Japan I have decided to put off-line the GURU LOGIC game that I coded for
MSXdev'03. Please, if you have the file do not redistribute it and delete it
from your media.
By the way: I don't have the space to put it online either, but if
someone would like to try: I can send it via DCC if you get to IRC
(e.g.: #openMSX on irc.freenode.net).
People who'd like to try are asked to do this! :)
I still have plenty of online web space! I am only hosting Padial's
Hi guys,
I own 6 MSX machines, ganging from Yamaha MSX-1 (CM5-X music computer) to TurboR GT.
But as emulators are getting better and better and as space in my conto goes more and
more packed, I seriously consider to get rid of all the real hardware and move on to
emulation.
But before I do
And MEP? Sorry.. MEP was by me, not by Patriek. I think you mean GEM?

Hello, Patriek
Just make a jaw-dropping demo and bash all the cock-suckers in it ;) This is the way
groups and individuals used to fight in good old days, and it always was fun and
attracting more people into the scene :)
FAC was bashing C=64 folks, then FAF bashed FAC and so on and on!
And
Hi folks,
I have this funny idea: why not port the whole Half-Life with it's story and intense
atmosphere to 2D MSX engine Metal Gear style? I think this would be awesome and for
sure would hit major news ;)
Just my two cents...
Cheers, Adrian

Gah, one should just time on the TIME value (in Basic) / JIFFY (in
assembly). CPU-dependant timing, well, it kinda sucks.
Grauw, what is JIFFY?

Hi, is it me, or OpenMSX have some sort of floating sound?
It feels that sometimes it plays a bit faster and then a bit slower... Kind of like an
old tape... And it's not something fancy like FM-PAC or MSX-Audio. I'm trying to play
Metal Gear under RH9. And PC is a small pizza box style with

Hi! It's always good to read documentation :) The max-user-freq value is 64 by
default. After applying recomended change:
echo 1024 /proc/sys/dev/rtc/max-user-freq
all works really great now :)
Whoo hoo! Thanks!

Alex, what is the name of your project at sf.net?
The sources are available at sourceforge, which is an organization that hosts
many open source projects. Sourceforge uses CVS (concurrent version control
system) for the version control of the sources.
Replace it with a normal AT PSU. It's a good idea if you use SunRise IDE cart :)
The power supply within my Sony HB F1 XV suddenly die.
Smoke but no fuse and no smell and no more boot !!!
Do someone know how to repair it.
I began to take it apart but i see no fuse at all.
AT PSU provides +/-5, +/-12 and ground. It's all your MSX needs. For sure you should
disconnect (and optionally remove) original PSU and find out what type of voltage
should go to MSX motherboard. But it shouldn't be too hard with all the marks on PSU
and motherboard, even with dead PSU,

We have the Moon Sound cartridge, so why we need the C64 SID?
And if I'm not mistaken even MSX-Music is better.
I agree. Although it's comparing apples with oranges.
But thats besides my question!
