Anyway, perhaps one extra sentence won't hurt?
Additional sentences generally put more information to the reader,
thus increasing the chance of information overload. Thus hurting.

Here is the (hopefully) final propsal for changed sort name style:
1. All ArtistSortNames must be in Latin script. If the ArtistName is
in a non-Latin script, use the transliterated or translated name by
which the artist is commonly known.
Chidade, the general opinion (this includes me) seems to
Fair enough. Feel free to go ahead with the RFV again then.

Hmm, maybe I was too fast to RFV.
Reading the suggestion again I'm not sure what the pronoun they is

While it's true that other possible names should be entered as
aliases, I think it's understood anyway, this isn't really the place
to elaborate on it. It should all be covered by
http://wiki.musicbrainz.org/ArtistAlias already and if it isn't, it
should be.

Maybe, but I'm thinking from the point of view of a new editor, who gets
overwhelmed by the amount of information in the wiki and different style
guidelines (I've been there myself). Having a line about alternate
transl*taions being ArtistAliases can help avoid new editors changing around
The previous discussion seems to more or less have settled, so I am
submitting a request for veto on my proposal. There was some concern
over the use of best, so I changed it to the deliberately vaguer
commonly. This should leave sufficient room for letting the voters
decide on tricky cases where
