You should be able to create a file with a .vlm extension which will
launch a VLC telnet script to stream your device to mvpmc. The
telnet command stream is on port 4212 and video or audio should be
delivered back on 5212.

MVPMC does not need to play /dev/video1 directly. VLC already has
