Im install mysql but mysqlmanager dont exist and mysql_multi to.
I update the Makefile with option.
--with-mysqlmanager
But doesnt work, it doesnt appear. I dont understand whats going on
Where possible I use distro builds of applications (let them worry about

I installed the noinstall package of mysql 5.0.41 on Windows Server 2003 R2
SP2. I manage an instance with mysqlmanager of this package. The my.ini is the
following:
[manager]
pid-file=mysqld37.pid
[mysqld37]
mysqld-path=D:/Programme/MySQL/mysql-5.0.41-win32/bin/mysqld-nt.exe
datadir=D
I shut down a database using:
mysqladmin -uroot -pxxx shutdown
and the db shutdown as expected. But then it restarted! My only guess
is that mysqlmanager can't tell the difference between a clean shutdown
and a crash.
Maybe this is expected? But then what good is the shutdown co
I've switched over to the mysqlmanager startup system instead of the old
mysqld_safe because thats the only supported method in mysql5.
I needed to restart a DB so I did a `/etc/init.d/mysqlmanager restart`
which seemed to work, but there were some problems:
- the daemon was no longer acce

You don't have log option specified here. Try adding
log=/var/lib/mysql/mysqlmanager.log

As it was already advised, check the dir/log file permissions.
Also, it might help if you post your my.cnf here.

The only way i've found so far is to modify the init file that comes
with the RPM. Not something I'd like to do : )

It is still being developed and I am told it should not be used other than
for testing MySQL. There is a mysqlmanagerc (client) app that goes with
it. It looks like it is being made to execute commands remotely.
