there are no "snaps" "crackles" or "pops" in the audio, just a mild
hiss. However, once I switch to the TV in MythTV, it goes to one
speaker and the rice crispy effect is back. Anyone with any ideas let
me know. I'll try anything at this point.

I had a similar problem using a Diamond Monster Sound mx300 and finally
just gave up. I yanked the card and put in a SB Live! 24, but now it's
not working at all (in record). Sorry I don't have any advice to give
you, just know that there are others who have experienced this problem
as well.
I "think" slimserver has a command line interface, but don't quote me
on that (like I just did ;) ).

I finally decided to ditch my Diamond Monster Sound card as I could not
resolve the issues with the audio. I dropped in a Sound Blaster Live
PCI 7.1 card as a test. I tried LiveTV and everything sounded great.
When I watched TV, the sound would start right up and when I exited
LiveTV, the so
The reason you have sound twice is because you need to mute the line
in. Try kmix. Also make sure to turn on "recording" for the line in as
well.
