I didn't start the thread. I was answering the initial problem.
I have no intention to use KnoppMyth.

The alpha version, R5A12 probably does. The earlier
released version R4V5 probably does
No my question is.
Does KnoppMyth support dvb out of the box install?
I have a fusion dvb card it's pretty generic and it works when I
install linuxtv-dvb.
Also I had a strange episode which I can not reproduce and that was
pip using that card.

The real problem with Suse's Qt was with some of Myth's plugins. This
has been fixed in .17. I'm a

The problem isn't with Suse directly. It's with QT.
QT on Suse is not compiled with database support
or threads.
Simply download QT 3.3.4, configure, compile, install.
Then link /usr/lib/qt3 to /usr/local/qt (from the QT install)
and you're good to go.
This is what it took to get MythTV running on

I find KnoppMyth to be an excellent distro. It isn't "one step" if
you're using PVR-350 out, that requires

I feel I have to respond to this. I had a DirecTivo. It was 100
times easier to setup than Myth ever was. That is not to say that
Myth isn't 1000 times better than TiVo. Myth has so many more
functions. I completely agree with Rob here. Tivo is cool...but it
is like a gateway drug. It will d

I would look at the Knoppmyth wiki that states what mysql command you
need to run to grant connections from your frontend. By default the
mysql grant/create statements only create a connection for localhost
and not from anything over your network.

I completely agree. MythTV is a fantastic app, but can be a pain in
the rear to get up and working. I have to say that without Jared
Wilson's guide (www.wilsonet.com), I would not be the happy MythTV
user I am today. His site convinced me to start using Myth in the
first place. I had never real
