I would agree regarding the firewall. I have debug tracing running now
to see if it's something strange.
I was looking at the timeout and it was set to the default of 10
seconds. I went ahead and increased it to 15. It's been running for
about 2 hours in debug mode without incident.

Check your host config for mail.myvest.com. Also when you do
check_http -H $HOSTADDRESS$
it's expecting the IP Address of the host that you gave in the host
config.

I recently converted both of my Nagios systems to Nagios 2.0 and
changed my configuration to use distributed monitoring. My remote
system send status vis ncsa to my local system, and my local system
monitors the remote hosts with passive checks.
All of this works fine, except for one host.
nope no firewall getting in the way :-(
