an error, maybe a missing reference, so full details on the error is
important.

Got Input? Slashdot Needs You.
Take our quick survey online. Come on, we do
50" -T PTR \
-a "akc.org" -v
That returns OK, but without the -a, it returns a warning.

straight to dig using the -A arg on check_dig, however because check_dig
executes "-t A" it doesn't allow you to pass certain syntax, so:
./check_dig -H 8.8.8.8 -l 74.203.101.150 -A "-x"
doesn
| grep Average | awk '{print $4}'`

This may be a silly question, and completely unrelated, but is there any
reason you're using \r instead of \n? Is there any reaso
cessary script headers, so it looks like this:
!#/usr/bin/php
http://nagios.sourceforge.net/docs/3_0/objectdefinitions.html#service
http://nagios.sourceforge.net/docs/3_0/objectdefinitions.html#command
It might help to look at some of the examples that come with Nagios too.

That's not to say you won't see it defined in a service, but less likely
than a command. What made you think $HOSTNAME$ was valid there? If it
was valid, what value should it take? What are you trying to achieve?

Achieve unprecedented app performance and reliability
What every C/C++ and Fortran developer should know.
Learn how
ile on start up. If they are the same,
check that nagios has write permissions to /var/lib/nagios3/rw. Also,
the command file is a pipe, not a simple file, so "touch" isn't good
enough, you'll need to use mkfifo or mknod.

latency is terribly high. What is your overall latency look
like on the tactical overview page? How many hosts and services are you
checking?
The doc on tuning has some hints on tweaking some settings that improve

In addition to Marc and Trond's recommendations, another gotcha is sudo
may have the requiretty setting enabled by default, this can cause some
issues too.

That's an awful lot of time to be shifting. I'd
recommend starting there to find out why your server shifts so much
before looking at nagios.

Let Crystal Reports handle the reporting - Fr
ticket. However, you
can never be entirely sure on how somebody has their RT system setup.
They might use different custom fields for stuff that the generic
generator tries to use to remember the problem ID.
