This is the reason I'm experimenting--SOG for the whole nail except the french
white tip. Am using regular YN Hyper White for that...and sooo easy to whip
white tips off with efile.
Have tried Star and Gelish...so far loving the ease of app for Gelish.

JUST got my actual license in the mail yesterday,which made the whole

respected tech at the Chicago show that you can use the base as the first
coat--and then--mix base and any nail polish to get that color.

After you cure the base, take a dry brush and wipe the tacky. It makes it
drier, supposedly for a better grip and no shrinking.

THAT is an issue I have with using a primer, Rhonda. I do not want it to be any

Also, I want to add, I use the Akzentz trick of only putting protein bond on
the end of the nail so that it will soak off. If you put PB on the entire
nail, it is harder to soak off. You put the PB on the ends so that you
don't have any separation at the free edge.

I've used Naillites as well as something that hasn't been released yet. I
actually learned this technique from Gina Silvestro at an Akzentz class. It
is used primarily for darker colors, which tend to shrink more. It does
work!

I did not have any clients that used Star after I read that. BUT, I did try the
dry brush trick that was on Maggie's Notes, on the OPI I just did. I have no
idea why I did that because my OPI does not shrink!!! LOL

I have been using LE soak away for my manicures and then whatever brand I
have for the color. (soakoff or traditional) I use their topcoat that is not a
so also. They said if you wipe off the sticky layer that your polish won't
