OK, I did have libcrypto (SSL) installed after all in a weird location
(/opt/sfw/lib - bletch), so this is the same issue as discussed the
README.solaris file. I hate to use crle, but I'm sure this was
discussed ad nauseam at some point in the past, and I don't want to
offend anyone's sensibilities

It's pretty clear that snmpd is failing to start.
I read the FAQ and all, configure and make ran without any apparent
errors, still

Use AgentX. Anything else is either not implemented (DPI 2.0) or
deprecated (SMUX).

I have already submitted a request on the forum but to date
I have not had any feedback (proc and monitor sending trap
to a trap receiver), can anyone confirm that when you set-up the following a
trap is sent to the defined trap receiver.
