Could you elaborate on some open source databases? I'm looking for
something to replace Access. Something to work as a ODBC client and a
single file data storage with ODBC connectivity for ODBC attached
websites.
Thanks!

How do I get MySQL to act as a Microsoft SQL Server client so I can edit
records?

I'm wondering if anyone can give me some information regarding the
following items:
1. How to make a program automatically startup with login, how to start
minimized would be nice too.
2. How to change icons correctly. I have put programs in my taskbar but
I think I've assigned the icons
I'd have to argue on the point of intuitive. I just spent 2 minutes
trying to paste text from one email to another. It showed in my little
clip board in the bottom right but I couldn't paste it using CTRL+V or
the paste command in the edit menu. I could however paste it in KEdit.
Weird.
At least if you switch to OpenOffice you'll save a ton of money on
licensing. Users will also find something familiar when you switch them
to linux down the road.
I'm in the same place as you. I really do like Win2k/XP but I'm trying

I wish more of this M$ bashing energy was put into making linux a more
viable solution.
Here you have a MCSE (started with MS networking when I was 23) who is

I have since been able to make it work better. I have tried both samba
and lpd as well. I am not using the lpd and set the printer to
http://x.x.x.x/printername and it printed to the Win2k server. I also
had to change the print drive to HP LaserJet series or something simpler

Where are all these companies paying big bucks for MCSE certification? I
can't find them and I could install Win2k before I started studying.
I gave up and now I'm learning linux.
