Hi,
I had the same sort of problem with my Vaio...
Let me guess - XMMS won't play, KDE crashes on startup, Mplayer is flakey?
Check your sound driver in DrakConf (go to Hardware and configure the sound
driver from there). I noticed that the sound driver that Mandrake was using

Hi All,
I've got a small problem with my digital camera and Mandrake 10.
Before, with MDK9.0, I used to plug it into the USB port and mount it on
/dev/sda1 (set as vfat) and that would work fine.
When I plugged the camera into MDK10 my USB mouse stopped working and I am
unable to mount the
Hi All,
I have just fixed my sound so I thought I'd share exactly what I did incase
anyone else is still struggling.
I'm running Mandrake 10 CE on a Vaio Laptop. The install went perfectly but
KDE crashed instantly and continued to do so until I switched off the sound
using Kcontrol via IceWM.
(sorry if this comes out a bit long, but I'd like to make sure that I've
explained everything).
On the weekend I installed Mandrake 10 (install, not update). Install went
fine. I then booted into KDE 3.2. It hung leaving the Mandrake wallpaper in
the background. I tried again, this time I got a

Hullo,
I've got myself a PSX-USB converter and it seems fine under Mandrake. I
just plug it in and it is detected and works okay.
Just one small problem is that the joypad is only available to root. If I
run a prog as a normal user it says that it doesn't see any joypads. The
same prog when run
Hi,
Is there any news on when RC2 might be available or when the community
release is happening?
Cheers,
Stevie :)

Hi All,
Just a quick one here... I've got a USB mouse plugged into a Viao laptop and
it works fine... But sometimes when I start DrakConf or start up an external
USB ADSL modem the mouse stops responding.
It's a bit of a weird one... Anyone know what might cause this?
Thanks,
Stevie :)
Just read the bit in the link about removing KDE altogether in order to
upgrade to 3.2...
Is there another way? I would rather not uninstall KDE and then do the whole
urpmi thing for it to fail... That would be real nasty...
Could I add KDE to the skip.list and upgrade the rest of the system
Hi All,
I tried the update over the weekend and after about 3 hours or so of getting
packages I thought it was done, but when it went to do the final install it
stopped and told me that Apache 1.3 clashed with Apache 2, both of which
urpmi download itself.
I also got an error message about
Hi All,
I recently got broadband installed and I wanted to update my Mandrake 9.0
installation to the very latest of... well... pretty much everything -
Including KDE, Open Office, etc.
My problem is that I don't fully understand the use of urpmi yet. I did the
