I am installing libglib-devel and it requires pkgconfig. I
installed pkgconfig from source code. Now pkg-config sits in usr/local/bin. But
kpackage still returns pkgconfig =0.12 is needed. How can I make the system
know that pkgconfig is already installed? I know this is a very primitive

pkgconfig is not installed.

How did you install pkg-config - ? Was it via RPM? Was it compiled on
your system?
If it was by RPM, can you try it again -
