I used to do ftp installs in my RedHat 5.x/6.x days and they did require you to boot off a (two, in fact) floppy disk first. As for network boot, it is possible through tftp. You might want to get a manual of the machine first and find out what exactly does boot from "network" mean. - Steve ---

Hi all, I just got thru all the possible newsgroups without a proper answer, so here is my question: I got a Thinkpad 760ED for free, but without CDROM and with a defective floppy drive. Replacing the floppy drive is almost as expensive as a new (used) 760ED. Is there a way to install thru a netwo
