what kind of modem are you using are you sure it's not a win modem if it is you won't get it to work check to see if linux has detected your modem as most pci modems are win modems as root hit drakconf the hardware settings and let it try to detect your hardware in the list it shows see if you

I am using Mandrake 6 and trying to setup ppp to dial-up my ISP. I tried using the Kppp client, netcfg and the script method but none of then worked. I do not know what I am doing wrong. When I use Kppp and try to connect I get the message "modem is busy".With netcfg it just does not work and
