Greetings again!
I am attempting to download and install the KnetworkLED app (RPM) but it
doesn't install because I do not have libXinerama.so.1
My questions, what does libXinerama.so.1 do and why wasn't it included in my
original XFree86 bundle?

Good question!
When binaries look for dependent libraries, they need to know where to
look - almost like a "path" statement, but for libs. So, in essence,
when you edit the /etc/ld.so.
