DO NOT do the test in the install. answer with a resolution that you KNOW will work e.g. 800x60016bpp and then do NOT boot automatically into X. When you boot up, type startx and then in the configuration you can change and test to your heart's content, and then set up to boot into X if you

I have a cirrus logic GD5422 with i believe 1 MB of memory on it. I have a CTX VL500 with says it can do up to 1280x1024, 60Hz but is recommended 800x600, 100 Hz I want to configure it for 800x600 16bit color? Can any one help me? I got x working, but it is at a lower resolution. --- lee If
