Fire up the Sound mixer from Multimedia -- Sound. You'd want to adjust the
main volume control (left-most one) and/or the one for line. I make a link
to the sound mixer in home/yourusername/.kde/Autostart so that it'll
automatically be launched on startup (like in Windows).

how to make lower the volume of the sound. Any ideas?
