have you discovered as i have, that 'traceroute' as a user doesn't work and
that 'su -c traceroute' doesn't either? but if i su to root first, and then
issue 'traceroute whatever' - no probs - of course yu haev to have it
installed

It ~is~ there, on the CD. I was a little disappointed finding
that few of the basic (necessary, imo) networking tools aren't
installed on the quick 'n easy install. But not a
never mind! I tried doing a find / -name trace* but didn't turn up but
I found it under /usr/sbin jus the same... grrr

Specifically, I'm looking for a discussion of the
different responses you can get, especially "network
unreachable". I recently saw an excellent discussion
of this, I thought in a Linux tutorial/manpage. But
now I don't remember where I saw it.
