Actually the commercial cycle is fairly rapid for Mandrake. Once the final code is set in the testing phase they have to go to production. Printing and pressing CDs in large quantities, getting the components to the fulfillment contractor

That's an interesting answer... I've done kernel rebuilds quite a few times
with quite varied outcomes. It almost always works, yet very seldom does it
work better than it did before the rebuild. What I would like to see on my
Christmas wish list is if some talented individual could make up
I've done it several times, hoping to trim the fat and increase
preformance. I've removed several unneeded options, thinking that they were
dead weight. I've never seen any difference in the way the system runs.

what processor are you using and did you change the processor type to the appropriate
one when you recompiled? I change mine from 586 to PPro and there is quite a bit of
difference in performance ;-)
