Try removing aumix - its default mode under MDK9.1 is off.
Open Kmix and make sure it is on.
This solved the problem for me.

Anne et al.,
Have been following the thread above and have a personal solution which may or
may not help.
I decided to remove aumix. I didn't like its default mute. Am using Kmix

I've been around the block with browsers, and I can tell you that Opera
is the best one I've ever seen. Plus the fastest. It beats all the
others hands down. Latest version for Linux and the QT libraries is

The java and flash rpm's are available on mandrakeclub for download.
Don't seem to be able to find the Kill icon that I'm used to having copied to
the panel so that I can easily zap frozen applications.
How do I set this up under 9.1?
I know that I can CTL/ALT?F1-6 logon and ps -aux 'pipe' less/more and then
kill by trial and error. This seems too complex!

I totally agree, Anne.

I would like to update the xcdroast frontend from xcdroast-0.98alpha9 to

Believe that I need cdrtools-2.0 for the application to work.
Is there anything else I need to update.
How do I go about the change?
Any advice would be much appreciated.
