welcome to the group. That oil leak sounds like a bad cover gasket. It is
very common on these bikes. My 1996 was doing the same, which I fixed by
just tighten the bolts of the cover. Maybe you should try that first, before
going to replace the gasket.

I agree, I had a similar problem with mine, cleaning the carbs fixed it.
These bikes do like to be warmed up, but 4-5 minutes should be all you need.
On a 90 degree day you shouldn't need 20 mins.
