Another crappy cell phone photo to add to the Craigslist pet peeves.
Not enuf there visually to assess whether it's a deal or not, but
price is in the ballpark, and I'd go look at it just because of the
guy's ad copy.

I usually don't cry when I have a smooth ride. I have had a few jarring
rides that made me want to cry!

Yes the guy is a real poet... but the reason I asked is that the price
seems a bit steep to me; bluebook.com, for instance, suggests 1700
retail value for this bike (that is without the supposedly improved
shocks of course).

Bought an '83 cb550sc and a parts bike yesterday. Upon checking the vin
online, I find that the parts bike is an '84 cb650sc, not a 550 as I was
told! My dilemma is that the 650 parts bike is the one with a title and the
550 has none [which is a huge pain in New York State]. What problems

The guy clearly put some $ into this bike. New Corbin seat, shocks,
handgrips, air filter, tires and chain. Probably all needed when he
bought the bike. A Corbin seat (or something else after market) is a
must if you're going to ride more than 100 miles or as a daily rider.
27K miles is good,
Honda specs call for DOT 4 brake fluid.
I've read specific warnings against using DOT 5 which is silicone-
based.
But the DOT 4 available on shelves now is marked synthetic.
So questions are, what's in synthetic DOT 4 fluid, how does if differ
from non-synthetic (if there is such a thing), and
Perfectly safe. It's a synthetic form of the old DOT4. IIRC, it's the
lubriucant additive part that's synthetic. Otherwise, they are still
glycol-ether based, and will absorb water over time.
