Check your oil. I can always tell when it's low or time for a change
because my transmission "clunks" when I change gears.

maybe the handle bars turned in such a way as to dent the top of the tank.
Check that the handle bar stop (stops the handle bar from turning so far that
it hits the tank), didn't break off.
