Oh, I'll do it all right. Some rides would be good. Have a great trip back.

It is really great over here. I wish I had more time to explore and user
the back roads. We must return tomorrow as fast as possible. If you do
around here next year we should plan some rides together.

I thought the PCH was a California thing, but now I realize it goes all the
way to Seattle. I could take it down to Portland and then over to Ontario
if time permits. Great idea. Thanks.

If a chain should be good for 25K, I can relax. Thanks.

So much to see and do out west, it's hard to choose. But since your plan
includes all the way to the coast, the Pacific Coast Highway stands out in
my mind. Any part (or all of it) would make an awesome ride.
Honda is so impressed with it they named a motorcycle after it.

I replace chains when the difference between the tight side and the loose
side get too great. But it seems to me it is a fair expectation to get
about 25k miles out of a chain.

In downtown Denver there's a great diner called Sam's No 3 that's worth a
visit. Also at the state capital building engraved into one of the steps is
a marker letting you know you're exactly 1 mile above sea level. And just
north of Denver is the place where they make Celestial Seasonings tea, you
Now that's a great idea. I want to make that happen. Exactly the kind of
suggestion I was looking for. Thanks!

After my ride to Seattle, I'll only have NH, VT, and ME left to complete
the 50. Guess where I'll be headed next year at this time? Glad to hear
I've got some good riding in my future. Enjoy your trip!

Those of you who have gone to 16 or 17 teeth on your front sprockets, how
do you now determine the status of your chain since the marks behind the
axle are no longer relevant? Miles only? I've put 10,000 miles on my chain,
and now I'm getting ready for another 6,000 trip. I haven't tightened the
The salt flats are west of Salt Lake City, right on the border of Utah/Nevada.
It is only a couple hours out of SLC. If you've never been there I would
recommend it. There were some smaller roads the go north from there to connect
back (eventually) to Ontario, OR.
Those roads are quite desolate
Hi, Graham. Thanks for the link. I've tried David Silver but they can't supply
either a new or used exhaust system. So your bike may not have been sold for
breaking. Thanks again for the inf anyway.
