Hello all, I was thinking about getting an NC700X as a second bike, but I was kind of curious how much a hassle it is to maintain the chain and sprockets? I would enjoy the milage for commuting, and keep my NH for fun, aggresive riding. Is it a big enough deal that I should shy away from it?

I would recommend that you do NOT install an inline filter. There is little room for one and it can cause your fuel line to pinch, potentially causing the bike to die at highway speeds. Or at least that is what it did to me, the OEM line is moulded to prevent this. I use Emgo and HiFlo oil

+1 if you want to lock up the rear just adjust the brake peddle travel. That drum brake has more than enough power to lock the tire at will. I adjusted mine to have a ton of lever travel to prevent me from inadvertently locking the brake while I was learning to ride. If your front brakes are good
